if you mean the plastic covers? go to your local motorcycle shop and get a bottle of ferring polish..
used it on light bars and jeep windows, works GREAT for cleaning off the road haze and fine scratches

Depends on how bad they are. Mine were really bad so I used some 2000 grit paper to remove a little of the top layer of plastic then a wool bonnet with medium compund to polish them out. Works well and looks like it could be done about three times before the material gets too thin to trust any more.

I use a product called Plastix that I bought at an auto parts store. Wipe it on, let it dry, buff it off. eventually (3mos. or so) they glaze over again anyhow, but it works for a while.

Toothpaste works very well and is available just about everywhere. I'm getting ready to do mine when the weather clears. I have to find a spray can of clearcoat to coat them with after the buffing.

I used that orange bottle hand cleaner stuff on foglights to polish them. Worked pretty good, I could have polished more tho.

Meguires "scratch X". Designed for your paint, but works excellent on plastic. KD

NAPA has a kit w/ 6 foam pads already impregnated with a buffing compound and come with an arbor for your drill. I used that on mine and they look like new. That's saying alot, since I accidently got carb cleaner on the passenger side lens and it really messed it up bad.

New headlights are available quite reasonable now.I replaced the right side on my 96 and am going to do the left and also the 96 dakota as well.Tried a kit from carquest on the Dakota ,helped a little but nothing like the new assembly .With the new one everything is fresh and clear.I sourced mine locally for the right and could only get headlight and turn signal together. They are available seperately on ebay and I also found a website www.headlightwarehouse.com .They list individual headlight assemblies for under $50. Don't know anything about them accept what I read on their website, but they are in Saint Paul Minnesota and they invite you to visit their place of business there.Shipping within the US is quite reasonable but to we Canadians it gets a little pricey.

I picked up a "Headlight polishing kit" from Loctite at Autozone or Napa. Has the destructions, the different ultrafine grit sandpapers and the final polishing liquid to make them crystal clear again. I used it on the wifes van and it worked very,VERY well.
Before you start, mask off the painted surfaces around the lens with some tape in case(when!) you slip and scratch the clearcoat. Get a stool, a garden hose and some elbow grease. Masking the paint makes you a little bolder about sanding evenly out to the edge of the yellowed plastic. Keep it wet and clean and progress to the finest sandpaper then the polish.

"On with left hand, off with the right, Grasshoppa'!"

I forgot to mention it takes about 15 minutes per light to change them and took me about an hour to polish the old ones and the polish job is nowhere near as good as a new assembly. The choice is still yours but i won't be polishing anymore.
