Most front seal leaks are due to recent brake work or an overfull differential. Spec is 3/4" below the bottom of the fill hole.

Well first off its not a small job. If its not leaking real bad i wouldn't worry about it. But if its bad enough you have to pull the brakes the sealed bearing with the rotor and the axle out. You also have to pull the acuator off for the 4 wheel drive. Once that is off you will see the seal in that spot. It is easy to get the old one out but getting the new one in isnt fun. I had to build a tool that pulled the new seal in. It was basically a piece of all tread with 2 big washers on it. I ground the one washer down to the same size as the seal and it worked real good. Good Luck

Give it a week or so, you would be surprised how much oil will pool up in the axle tube if you pull the shaft out. Park it with the front left tire on a curb for a day or so and let the tube drain out. My guess is the seal is fine, I've had them drip for almost two weeks after pulling the shafts out.
