Free Aluminum Flat Bed!
For me, that is. My buddy just got a 2001 3500 DRW QC 4x4 with the sport package. He doesn't want the alum. flatbed on it, so we're gonna trade beds. My regular 8' bed off my 2500, and a set of Arrowcraft fenders I'm gonna give him. I'm gonna put on my dual wheels and the flatbed on mine.
Is there a difference in the frame rail width between a 99 2500 and a 01 3500 dually? I'm gonna force this bed on there one way or another, but I'm hoping to make an easy swap. Any issues I should be on the lookout for? |
I don't know, maybe someone could answer that questions. Keep doing searches on dually adapters. It seems like there was a good thread a while back.

MIght call the bed manufacturer and ask them!

As long as the 3500 wasn't a CC, the frames would be the same.
CC was wider than bed equipped trucks. |
If his buddy's truck is a Sport model it won't be a CC. Should be not problem at all.

Thanks for the info. I think it will fit, I crawled around under it today and checked it out. Can't wait to install it.

DOH! Sometimes the obvious is sooooooo hard to see. [duhhh] Thanks, a gold star for you. |
I parked right beside his truck today, and spent a half hour crawling around with a tape measure and plotting and scheming. The only difference is the axle width, mine is wider than his dually. He says now he wants a SRW, so maybe we can swap axles.
