Ford hub/knuckle conversion, rims?

Ive been itching to make the switch to ford manual hubs on my truck. Ive replaced the unit bearings more times than I can count =(
Whats holding me back is what to do about the change in axle width. Apparently theyre 3/4" longer on each side and Im already having issues with my wheels sticking out too far. Not only that, but do I need to make the rear wheels stick out 3/4" to match? Do I create handling issues if I dont?
I can get some wheels from helo that have a 5.89" backspace, but I think even then Im stuck with a 33" tire to keep it from rubbing.
Anyone done this conversion on their truck? run 35x12.50" tires? Im curious to find out what rims youre using.

You will hardly notice the extra width. No handling issues from it.

Ditto. Chev 2500 trucks have a wider track on the front. Doesn't hurt at all.

I have done this on my 96. Can't say that I 've noticed the tires any wider but with my stock chrome wheels the manual lock outs stick out of the center caps about 3/4"
