Fog Lamp wiring on 98

Finally tired of not seeing. Am looking at adding some type of driving lights to the truck. I have the stock frontend and bumper, but do not have any lights installed. As you can see, it is the SLT Laramie, so the question.... Is the wiring harness installed and tucked away somewhere for the OEM? If so, does the switch mount somewhere seperate like on the 96 or is it a combo with the headlights?

Thanks,
Ed

Re:Fog Lamp wiring on 98

When I added mine, I bought them from from the dealer. The switch was part of a new airbag switch cover that came with the lights. Some of the wiring is there but there was a relay that came with the lights that mounted under the dash. The relay is the low beam only relay allowing fog lights only when the low beams or parking lights are being used. The wiring on the backside of the bumper was there.

BTW, my 98 was an automatic and the lights fit just fine.

My 97 has the fog lamp wiring in the bumper for stock fog lights. You should be able to wire in fogs to these and just change out the switch in the dash next to the OD button.

Let us know. Srigs

sherod,
You should have the pigtales inder the bumper. the harness for the switch is behind the airbag switch panes. I added factory lights to my 98 and the just plugged in. The dealer will tell you they are not available for the autos. If they say that get a set for the stick. Same thing.
Hope this helps

Will they really fit with the transmission cooler there or do I have to find other ones that may fit? Are the factory fog lights any good or would you recommend an aftermarket/brighter fog light? Also is there a way if I buy the factory fog lights that I can buy a replacement switch in the dash so that i can turn the fog lights on with the headlights in one switch? Because right now I have the kind where u pull and not the kind where u turn. Just a few questions I been wondering.
