Fan clutch help
I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 auto with 121,000 miles on it problem is the fan clutch that I have replaced twice now still stays on. Anyone know why a new fan clutch would stay locked in? Doesn't matter if it's 32 degrees outside or 99 never unlocks engine runs right at 195 because I even changed the thermostat

Maybe because the quality of new parts now a days is awful.
New does not mean good always.

Yeah I can turn it but it doesn't spin freely, my 12 valve I can take one fingers and spin the fan this 24 valve Won't. I also changed the water pump with a new 195 t stat, I bought a napa brand fan clutch same thing stays locked n never cycles on and off, I'll just buy the flex a light electric fan and be done with it

Did you check that the little thermostat on the front of the fan can turn it's shaft?
Maybe the little spring (bi-metal) or the shaft got a knock during transport or installation?

The electric fans won't be very efficient on a Cummins.
It shouldn't spin freely, it should feel kinda gummy.
I don't even notice my fan when the truck is running.
At 195, sounds like it's all working...
