Factory lighted running boards and cab marker light wiring problem

I've had this truck for 2 months and I'm getting all the bugs worked out.

First the running boards. They look factory but am not positive. They have lights underneath and on top on the ends. Two wires feed the lights, one is connected directly to the battery (fuse is good) and a blue wire that goes up behind the dash, I'm guessing to the door switch or a dome light power feed. I can't find the relay. Is the relay inside the running boards? I'd like to get these lights working.

The marker lights on top of the cab do not work. Should they work when the light switch is on marker or headlight? All bulbs and fuses are good

Not sure on the runnig boards but the marker lights should come on when the switch is on marker and headlight (should work on both). maybe a cut wire somewere or bad ground. sounds like ya got to check all the wires.

The marker lights just needed to be taken apart and put back together. All the lenses were loose so I'm glad I checked.

No luck on the boards yet, they must have a relay inside them somewhere. They're kind of ugly, I might just ditch 'em.
