early and late 98 differences
I get crazy ideas sometimes, but when I bought this truck I was really looking for a 12 valve. This truck was so nice and drove so good I just couldnt pass it up for 5500.00. My question is what are the differences in the 12 and 24 valve wiring harnesses for 98 since both engines were used. If down the road I want to convert to a 12 valve engine will I have to gut the cab and replace everything electrical?
thanks

I'm not totally sure, but there are distinct differences, even down to the headlight switch, and I can guar-an-tee under the hood wiring will be BIG time different.

I looked at doing that to my 98.5 but after allot of searching I came to the realization it wasnt worth it and just bought a 12v truck. From what I was told you need the entire E/C wirring harness to the PCM

Dash wiring to the PCM
Throtle assembly
pretty much the best way is if you get a wreck and have all the parts.
Even the heater core lines are different on my two 98s

Just get the kit that I think (don't quote me on the vendor) piers sells to put a p7100 pump on your 24v. I hear they SCREAM due to the added airflow of the 24v head.
