dull sport headlamps

Hi all. This is my first post. I just purchased my first Dodge cummins.(A long time cummin). Anyway my truck is a 2001 with the SPORT package and the headlights have a film of some sort on them that is dull looking and ugly. I had a 1999 SPORT half ton that had the same problem. I hit them with a pressure washer and it pealed the film off and looked a little better but not by much. Has anyone else had this problem and more inportantly found a fix, other than spending big $$$s on hole new headlights. And if I do decide to get new headlights, can you get just the headlight part without the side turnsignal part, and about how much are they. Thanx in advance.

Short term fix.
Use Plexiglass polish made for boat and motorcycle windshields.
I use this stuff.

There are also products by Flitz, Plexus, Novus as well as other companies.

Long term fix.
Buy new headlight assemblies.

J BODY...I checked the four links you show and none of them have the sport headlights without the side markers. My side markers are just fine. I didn't think this was a one piece item. I would rather just buy the headlights and save a few $$$. Do you know of any place that would sell just that part?

Take some mag wheel polish and spent some time really giving them a rub down. It works.

I had the same problem with the headlights on my wifes van. Wet sanded the headlights starting with 320 grit working up to a final wet sanding with 1000 grit. I then took some polishing compound and buffed. Cleared them up and made a big difference in the amount of light output. Gotta be careful and not burn them if you don't buff them by hand.

Ok, I picked up some Meguiar's light polish, for plastic. Worked good. Thanks to all for the responses. It doesn't look like new, but pretty good. $0.99 for a little pouch of the stuff versus $99 a light!!!
