I have the smoothie for my 97, but the ones in the dash do work pretty good IF you remove the lower swing down bars. Remove them, and a McD's cup fits very well.....just don't hit any good bumps until your halfway done with the drink.....and don't let the drink sweat..........hmmmmmm
maybe that's why I only use them for unexpected food runs during wrenching sessions for more than 2 people. |

I used some black tie wraps and made two small holes on each side of the cup socket. I then threaded a tie wrap though the hole and then clipped the end off another tie wrap before sliding the locking end over the one end that had been routed through the hole. I then covered it all with hot glue to keep everything in place.

the little corners on my '02 cupholder broke where the middle arm comes down and attaches to the actual holder tray. I used a fiberglass repair kit, cut 4 triangle corners from the mesh, mixed the epoxy up, sanded the plastic a bit, placed the resined mesh on the corners to refab and let dry. Then I drilled a hole through to match to old hole so the nubs could grab from the bottom tray and FIXED. Plus the fiberglass corners will outlast the rest of the truck, probably.

someone show a picture with this smoothie installed?

Mine finally self destructed and broke the little plastic ears that held it in. Elmers(?) make a fiberglass epoxy patch paste, that and a short piece of plastic pipe from the hobby store and I can almost stand on the thing! no more dropped drinks:D I fixed the sunglass door in the overhead with a piece of spring steel and that stuff also. I'd use it on the dash but it's a cream/white color and would look even more ghetto then the cracks on my grey dash.

I relocated mine & did a slight modification to mine [laugh]
