Cruise Control won't disengage with brakes

I tried some searching, but couldn't find any similar problems.

My cruise control won't disengage when you hit the brakes. (haven't tried with the clutch).
It will disengage fine when you turn it off, or if you use the cancel button.

Most of the time it isn't a big issue, but I am scared of what might happen if I need to step on the binders really quick.

maybe check your brake switch. Do your brake lights work?

Your brake lite sw has 3 sets of contacts, one set for the brake lites the other 2 for the cruise. The sw's are a known problem and easy to change.

The brake lights work, but maybe (when the weather is warmer) I'll just change switches.
Thanks for the hint.
