Cruise Control Doesn't like Cold Weather
My cruise control won't turn on when the weather get's below 60 most of the time.. If it does turn on, the Cancel button won't work at all, but when it gets hotter than 60, it works just fine! Does this make sense to anyone?
Mine does kind of the same thing, but don't ask me how to fix it. It will alway turn on, but will gain speed rapidly until you hit cancel, which has always canceled it so far. If you run it a few miles, wait at a stop sign or something, it seems to warm the engine bay up, and then it will work great. Weird i guess, i just got used to it.
One thing to check, and this is a long shot, would be for a vacuum leak. When its cold out, i suppose something could shrink enough to give you a vacuum leak, which would make the cruise not work, kind of like a coil wire on old tractor. It gets cold, and the wire shrinks enough that the tractor wont start. Last february, it was about 12 below and I had to go on a 4 hour road trip, my vacuum line broke apart, right around where the fuel filter is, and walla!! no cruise, spliced in a small piece of plastic tubing with electric tape, and it worked great. Still running it that way too actually.
Sorry for the long winded response with little or no value, lol.
