clutch safety switch

anyone ever disable their clutch safety switch on a 95? I havent looked under the dash yet. The old days in my chebby you just could just unplug it and jumper it. Kinda of a PITA when I cant just reach in and wobble the shifter lookin for N then fire it up in the am.

Apache,
I know exactly what you're talking about wanting, but I can only imagine what some people will say about that practice:o
Anyway, there was a thread a while back about someone splicing the clutch safety switch wire into the cigarette lighter wire, which sounds like an awesome idea to me.
It gets done what you, I and some others want, plus you can't start (or steal) the truck without pushing in the cigarette lighter. I have yet to do this mod, but maybe over the winter:cool:

Recon the safety police will kill me if I was to be caught. What ever happened to common sense?
Cigarette lighter eh???? never thought of that one, problem is my mind would forget that I wired that way and get stuck somewhere.[eyecrazy]

The lighter trick is explained by "Infidel"
I'm gonna try it this weekend instead of waiting til winter....

Anyway, yes it can be jumpered under the dash by the pedal. Even the autos have the connector there with a jumper.

That's the way mine is done also, at the pedal

Kill switch is the way to go. Just use a normally open push button switch.

My switch is DOA.
Start my 04.5 without pushing the clutch pedal down.
