Yeah, i dont really think its legal, but i have two round lights hanging down from the bumper that light up red, and no trouble so far, but that doesent mean it wouldnt get me in trouble. I just thought it would go good with my bottom lights. I mainly just want to try it if any of you know how to get the bulb out. I may not keep them in, but would like to know what it would look like.

Eric let me know how you make out. I was thinking the same thing with the bulb covers.I dont know how well they are going to show through the amber covers. the bulbs may just look darker than the rest? I can tell you from the law standpoint that in Mass it is considered aftermarket lighting. $35 fine. I dont think it is likely to get you aquainted with the local pd unless it is a really slow night, or you were doing something else to warrent the stop in the first place. If the bulbs were blue or green and stood out I bet it would get you some unwanted attention. I dont bother trucks or rigs. That would be rather hypocritical of me with the stacks and all on my truck... But ricers that a different story.

Hey more smoke. I tried it last night, but it didnt look like i hoped it would. The red bulb covers really only made kind of a darker orange with a reddish tint. I know some people have red cab lights, but im just not sure whether they buy red bulbs, or what. They werent red enough to suit me with the bulb covers though, so i guess its back to the drawing board . Ill let you know if i make any progress.

Eric what size are the bulbs? I have a ton of colored bulbs in the garage. If it ever gets above 0 maybe I could try a few and see how they look.

Not sure what size they are, but they arent too big, and they fit into like a rectangle socket. Kind of like a lot of accessory light bulbs, but a little bigger.

MORESMOKE, What is the rationale for criminalizing aftermarket lighting? I don't expect to be there, but I see all sorts of 18 wheelers coming through Mo. with enough lights to decorate the Mayor's Christmas tree. Would those be ticketed in Mass.?
