I posted this on the TDR site but nobody seems to know.<br> <br> On the wife's truck the check gauge light will come on. It's a 98 12V. It will come on and chime about 4 times and go out. What in the world is that thing telling me?<br><br> Also there is a load ticking coming from the front of the engine. Kinda of like the fuel line sound.<br><br> Any ideas?<br><br>..PT..

 

Preston, I also have the ticking on my 98 I thought it was the inj. pump, Is the light the check guages or the check engine light? When it's cold out my check guage light dings three or four times, but I think it was because of the grid heaters and fuel heater going on and pulling the voltage down. Also when I 'm plowing and using the plow pump it drops the voltage.<br>Rick

 

This might be totally off but... I know I get a what seems to be random dinging after the truck runs for 15 secs or so when the windshield washer fluid resivoir is low. But I don't get any check engine lights when the dinging occurs.<br><br>Just a thought.<br>

The light says &quot;check gauge&quot;, red to the right of center. The ticking is a lot louder than I hear on my 96.

The chime will go off if the windshield fluid is low but I have yet to see a light.

I don't know but the ticking seems to be getting louder but the truck runs fine.
