Center Flip Up/Down Console

My center storage console when in the up position usually gets stuck, and I have a hard time getting it to release and drop back down. Anyone know how to fix this? or where to start?

The lid or the whole box?

There is a plastic piece that locks out the button that unlatches the lid when in the up position, mine wore out and fell off, but it is up the inside of the upholstery.

I think they haven't really changed from 94-02, except for the inner tray layout. I will check my FSM and see if I can troubleshoot it for you.

it is the whole box. The lid works well.

You should be able to remove a couple screws with the seats all the way forward and see if something is stuck or broken in the hub for the armrest box.

The FSM doesn't really mention any locking device for the whole rig, just the lockout for the opener button when in the up position.....

I am having the same problem. I've removed the two screws, but got frustrated and quit to come do research... never been so frustrated by such a sill 2 screwed-on mechanism!

Any luck with your problem, MrKen?
