can i swap to a dually bed?

Ive been wanting to clean up my truck, and the bed is kind of rough, so could i buy a dually bed and just put some dual wheels on my srw axle? That way, id only have to "restore" the cab. Id like to make a "tri-axle" looking pickup, one with dually rears and non dually fronts, like the super single fronts on those dump trucks. Obviously, id have to have the same overall diameter tire b/c 4x4, but i think it would be neat. Its a 95 2500 reg cab long bed.

you tire will stick out too far a dually axle is not as wide and it is an 80 series axle your truck has a 70 series axle under it now.

How much wider is the SRW axle? My buddy's got a 01 Dodge 2500 STS edition (whatever that means) SRW but it's got a Dana 80. He's getting some dually wheels for it, he thinks it shouldn't be too much of a problem and if it is he's just gonna make a flatbed.

If he has an 80 it must have a manual tranny i don't know the exact sizes right now but someone will chime in with them most likely and yes it would be less of a problem with a flat bed.

I think it's a matter of the offset on the steel wheels, not the axle width. The axles should be the same width. The front on the dualies has a spacer for the steel wheels so you can rotate all six tires.

that sounds right to me. He crawled under a 2nd gen 3500 and measured the axle and I believe it came out the same as his 2500 axle.
