Camper tie downs

What is the best method to hold down a cab over camper in a 2nd gen?
A camper isn't my 1st choice, but I can't count on the wife to be able to safely tow a trailer across Canada in my 1st gen.

With my popup,I've used Happijac mounts. It's going on 33 Baja runs and numerous trips in the US on two trucks. No issues ever and the front centering setup they use is exclusive to them.
Torklift offers a true framemount design that would be very useful with a big hardsided camper.

I'm keeping with an 8' so I don't have to do anything with the trailer hitch. I will be towing a 7,000lb box trailer at the same time.

May be the wrong forum or method but I took a complete set off my 97 a couple of months ago when I got a 5th wheel toyhauler. If interested - let me know. I think they are happy jack.

I won't do anything but frame mounts with campers anymore, even my little 8 footer. Pickup boxes are flimsy. Belly-bar or L brackets up front... and in the rear, extensions off the sides of the receiver hitch.

I tried ordering up a set from the lower 48, but found it just as expensive as buying local. Happijac is cheaper than Tork Lift and still ties into the frame.

Installed my HappiJac tie downs yesterday. Wasn't too difficult of an install. Had to drill 12 holes. The largest being 1/2", the smallest being 3/8". The worst 2 went through the bottom of the bed into the bed mount. Where they wanted you to drill it didn't line up too well with their bracket, but I made it work.

Well the BEST method is to get a Stable Lift! That clamps it on automatically with no messing with tie downs. It's also a WAY better and easier lift.
I should have gotten myself one 20 years ago. I finally did it and will never go back! It's like getting your first diesel pickup after having gassers all your life.
