Cab swap question

I was wondering if you guys might be able to tell me if the cab on a 94 half ton 2wd gas truck will swap with a 95 dually diesel 4x4. My 95 is pretty rusty, and I bought a 94 half ton with a real good cab. I hate not to fix up my old 12 valve, as much as trucks cost these days. Thanks in advance for replys and suggestions............
Barry

The diesel cabs are better insulated against sound. But the hassle of changing the wiring would be the hard part I'm thinking.

I have done it, wiring isn't too bad, the air conditioner lines were a pain, get the tool for them. Also be prepared to break pieces off your dash

I am doing the same conversion. I bought a wrecked 95 diesel w/o a title. I also have a 94 gas 1500. I swapped cabs. I have not finished the swap because I ran into a snag with the wiring in one spot. There was only one connector that was different. It was one of the three large connectors in between the brake booster and driver side fender. I have not decided weather or not to try and cut and splice the wires. I think I may be better off trying to pull the wire harness out of the old cab, which means getting into the dashes of both trucks. I got side tracked on this project, because I got more excited about getting a 12valve swapped into my Excursion.

LanceD did you already do this swap? What did you do? Did you pull all the wring out of the cabs and swap or did you cut and splice? My only problem with cut and splice Is that colors don't match and I don't have the factory diagrams for those trucks. I also know there are more differences in between other years of trucks that I have.

I'd rather hear about the 12v/excursion project.

The cabs are all the same across the three configs, when matched for reg/club. Quads have different front door lower rear edges.
The wiring harnesses are a different story between diesel and gas as you've discovered....

thanks I am pretty happy about how it came together. The truck was super clean. The 6.0 had thrown a few connecting rods. I even made some money back on the heads and a few items from the motor. I am stuck up in the ND oilfields right now so no time to finish the little stuff. I still need to charge the AC and hook up the cruise, and replace a leaky rear pinion seal. Most importantly add some Cummins decals to the exterior!

Yes If they don't recognize the sound of a Cummins they probably are not worthy
