To buy a parts truck or piece body parts together??

Its time i start getting the body of my truck back into shape. But i'm not real sure where to even start. The bad that needs fix, all 4 doors are rusted out beyon repair. front right fender got some rott, and bed sides are rusting. I know i can get a take off bed pretty cheap. But doors are hard to come by and most want high dollar for them.. I thought about trying to buy a 1500 QC for a parts truck, all the doors and fender then part out the rest. I could use some interrior parts if it would happend to have nice ones. Is there anywhere else you have been able to find good body parts?? when i find whoever is going to spray it, i hope the know the fix for the curse of the dodge door rust

My truck is getting rusty too and fixing it up is on my mind. The thing that worries me about finding used parts is that even if they look good today, I might install them and paint the truck, then the used stuff will be starting to rust within a year. Wherever I can, I think I'm better off getting new panels, just to prolong the life of the new paint as long as possible. Still, I'm worried about the quality of most aftermarket body panels- for fit as well as corrosion protection. The best solution is probably new OEM parts, if it would be affordable. Haven't really started to price any of this stuff out yet, or check for availability. Those factors will probably help with my decision.

Buy a parts truck from TX or AZ. No rust usually.

That would be ideal, find one from TX but not sure how easy it will be to run across one. I'm not to happy with using aftermarket body panels, in back in 2004 i had to put a new bed side on the truck that was aftermarket, right now its rusted out worse than anything else on the truck. Anyway you look at it body work is very very pricey, just trying to be smart about it.

On CL a few months ago a guy locally had a 2500 quad cab with no engine for sale with a clean body for a grand. Took him 3 months to finally get rid of it. I almost bought it for backup parts myself. Search Craigs in the Dallas, East Texas and Houston listings. They do pop up. Lots of gassers especially. Body parts are the same.
