Brake pads

I wash my truck and the next dayor two my front wheels are covered with brake dust. I don't think its my driving habits as I've had trucks for the last 25 years and never seen it this bad. Anyone using different than OEM pads that they've had good luck with?
Tim

Those sound great, unfortunately neither Raybestos or NAPA list them for our trucks. Not sure whether they just haven't gotten to them or they don't have the stopping power of semi-metallics that our trucks need.
Tim

Re:Brake pads

I got 107K on my 97, 3500 and are original brakes. Last owner said I should go to Dodge dealer and get same brakes they use for replacement. I don't need brakes yet, but if I can get another 100k on one set I think I should go to my Dodge dealer. Any comments out there? Anybody else out there getting 100k miles on one set of brakes?

Best brakes I have had on that truck. I don't know why the 2002 has a different part number.
I have suspicions they are the same, but I don't have a Hollander book to tell me if they will interchange.

I have also had the Performance Friction Z series pads on my truck. They were great also, and might have lasted longer if my calipers hadn't stuck. Autozone did not have the PF pads in stock when I changed out the calipers or I would have used those pads again.

I checked the Auto Zone web site and found they have PF pads for it and state something about ceramic pads also. Here are the part numbers for your 2002: PF: 8214, Morse Ceramic: 821C

I also understand that PF has come out with a line of ceramic pads. I don't know much about them though.

Chris
