Brake fitting size on front to rear brake line

Does anyone know the size of the brake fittings on the front and rear of the line going from the front to rear behind the fuel tank? Are they standard or metric? I dropped my tank to fix the fuel lines and decided I should change that but would like to make one trip to the parts store. I know it is 3/16 line but want to know the fitting size without tearing apart first. I searched but could not find the size of fittings anywhere.

They are standard, all 3/16 line from the parts stores have the same size fittings. If Dodge used a odd size you will have to buy adapters or cut the line and reuse the old fittings. Pre-made lines never come the length you need. I buy a roll of tubing and make my own. I also use they new stuff that is copper colored that does not rust.

LOL, Standard 3/16", for Ext cab you need 2 60" and 1 30" line, plus 2 connectors. Figure about 18" less for a non-ext. cab.

Oh yea, make sure you get the right line at the front, they both come in close together, some dummy got in a hurry on his last line job and broke off the wrong one ( the front brake line ). The rear line is tucked in behind the front brake brake line block.

THAT one is a special nut at the block, double flare tool time........

I thought they were all double flares now?? So what fitting are you saying is different? I bought a 25 foot roll of brake line with no fittings on it that is why I was asking if there were different sizes of fittings.

They are all double flares, the Front brake line from the Block under the master cylinder to the block on the frame is the one that I was referring to. The nut at the frame is a standard 3/16" line nut, but the one up on the Aluminum block below the MC is a different size.

I try and not double flare if possible, I never get as good of results as the ones you buy........

The rear line uses both 3/16" standard nuts.

If you do not want to flare it you can buy an adapter.

Thank you all. I don't mind flaring I was just curious what size thread they put on the lines on these trucks. I have flared a lot of brake lines on my drag cars just new what the fittings were ahead of time. Thanks again

Okay I got the front to rear line done but the short one at the block on the frame to the RWAL valve has to different fittings on it and neither are the standard 3/8-24 fittings. Does anyone know what these are so I can find them before tearing it apart? Thanks
