Bought a Wrecked 2500

First off this is my first post, but I have been reading a ton of posts for a while now and love this forum, the moderators and members do a great job of helping out each other. Ok enough sucking up...LOL I bought a 2002 2WD quad cab lwb a few months ago it has been at the body shop for what seems like an eternity I just got it back and trying to figure out whats bent on the front suspension. Heres a little history on the truck it went off road and hit a sign which went through the rad, intercooler, cond, and bent the fan. part of the sign went through the windsheild and back window. the front passenger wheel was bent and it looks like it hit a curb or something very hard as the tire was blown out. My body guy said the frame is straight and that its the spindle. I bought a spindle but I am doubting its bent the front wheel is closer to the back of the fender than it should be and the top is towed in and it seems to be lower on that side. I am thinking upper ball joint? but im not sure anyone have any ideas on what bends on hard impacts on the front wheels? Thanks in advance Scott

The lower control arm is bent. I had a boo-boo with mine last year. The frame was not bent, but as you mentioned, the wheel was set back. They rplaced the lower control arm, and everything came out fine.

I'm Lucky enough to have a Father in law that has a dealer license and I buy salvage trucks and boats from insurance auctions as a hobby. I enjoy working on them playing with them a while and then selling them. Some people freak out about salage/rebuilt titles, but if you Know it has a rebuilt title and the price is way under normal value why not.... just my two cents.

Do you have the plastic piece off the passenger side of the seat? charcoal/slate in color?

I see a ton of wrecked trucks. Right now i am looking at a 99 LWB EX CTD, just needs a hood front grill and bumper. 120k and only $5K. I don't know if it is 4x4 or not but it is still a good deal

This was my first diesel and I found out that parts cost alot more for this thing than any of my other vehicles...... I just got the front end together replaced the lower/upper control arms...ball joints and inner/outer tie rods... installed 1.5 lift in the front to level it took it to get aligned and the transmition is going out AAARRRRRHHHHHHH this thing is breaking the bank...LOL I will post some pics after the tranny repair if I dont kill the thing first.....
