does anyone have pictures with the all terrain's or mud terrain's on a
2nd gen thinking about getting some but not sure how they would look, my dad has the allterrains on his silverado but thats not much of a comparison to me, thanks -Matt

What size are you looking for?

Look at my tire review in the general section. I think that the BFG A/T's are a little overrated (although they do look pretty sweet)

I'm with him ^^^. They are a decent tire on the street, and not horrible in the snow, but take them off hard stuff, like packed dirt, rocks, or pavement and they soon gum up with junk and turn into rolling pins. They have horrible traction in the mud, or on ice, or even slushy roads. If your only using them in a dry climate, they'll be great, but if you live somewhere that gets muddy, don't bother with them.

i had a set, they were shot inside of 30k miles. when i say shot, i mean bald. for the price , they just didnt hold up long.

i have the peerless widetracks now, not the same agressive profile, but wear great, they hook in snow and rain perfect and much lighter on the wallet.

I like the tires. But haven't had too much experience with other 35" tires persoanlly. And i have only put about 15,000 hard miles on mine and they seem to be wearing good.

I had A/Ts before this. They wore very well, but as others have said, they're no good in mud. Unless you have a TON of wheelspin, the tread just fills up and you get no traction.

I've had 35" BFG AT's on mine for 5 years, 50,000 miles.
They still have over half the tread left.

They are drying and cracking on the sidewalls though, to the point that I wouldn't trust them on a long trip.

One has never been able to balance right, I must have 5 lbs of weights stuck to that rim.

I'd get them again but they don't make an E rated 35" tire, and I don't think D's are enough for these trucks.

I have pics in my gallery with both tires on my truck. 305 mud terrain 285 all terrain. The mud- were quite noisy on the road(at least 20,000 miles, were on the truck when i got it, maybe another summer of driving on them yet) but the more noise the better in my opinion. The all-can still be noticiable but not bad at all with the radio on.(only have 3500 miles so far).

Just took my 285's E range off after 19,000 miles down to 4/32 tread. Was running the BFG muds before and getting 40k out of them. BFG is changing to the new KM2 mud and when I checked 285's were not available yet.

Must be doing something right, my truck eats them up I would be hard pressed to get 30K out of a set 315-70-17

I just learned some new information from the tire shop the other week regarding this. I was under the same impression as you. My new BFG A/T 35x12.50x16.5 tires are rated weight wise the EXACT same as my Michelin LTX265/75R16 tires. They are no longer selling/rating tires by the ply rating, they are now referring to the weight number. For instance both of these tires have a 123 weight rating.

For a pseudo aggressive M/T, I've gotta give it to the BFG. I've run them on Jeeps and they performed quite well, and I got about 50kmiles out of them with full lockers.

BTW, did you happen to buy that truck in OK, that looks like one that I nearly bought until the dealer got shady on me.

So far these tires are holding up well. I've found that keeping up to date on rotations goes a ways in making them last....good thing they're free at Discount Tire.

This must not have been the one you saw (at least I hope not). Ordered it in Jan '00 and picked it up brand new in March '00 in Giddings, TX.
