I can get the BFG commercial TA's at walmart for $125 ea. Do any of you run these on a 2500? What kind of mileage can I expect? It looks like it is strictly a street tread and I'm wondering what it will do in snow?

 

I ran the Commercial TA's for a good while and loved them, I got a chance to trade them for some LTX m/s. Can't really comment on the snow... We didn't have any this year.

 

i love mine cant tell you about the snow either but there great tires,in my 3500 i get around 18mpg cruising

 

A local tire store has a new set of Michelin LTX M&S that were put on an Excursion and taken back off because the customer didn't like the ride. I can get these drive out for $650 which seems to be a pretty good deal. I had a set of the factory Michelins on my 99 CTD 2WD and got 30K miles on them and they were slam wore out and I rotated them every 5K. This has somewhat turned me against Michelins.

 

The All-season TA's or the traction TA's?

I'm running the all-seasons.. Got 20k on 'em now, I predict another 20k for the front, and another 40k for the rears.

 

Not to try and hijack the thread, but has any body ran the traction version of the BFG Commercial T/A's? I noiced on their website they have a 265/75/16E on the market, and I can pick them up from Costco for $144 per tire. My LTX A/S are getting down to thier final summer, need to be replaced before hunting season. Thanks

I'm looking at the all season's. I went to the BFG website and I do like the the traction TA's also.

 

BFG's Website says Commercial T/A handling rating is only 6 ? Does this mean the "death wobble" ? or what ? seems like a "commercial tire" would have a strong sidewall. Or what else would this mean ?

The Long Trail or Rugged Trail look like good all-around tires.

I got a price of $444 for the 265 liberators at Walmart. Who makes these?

 

Funny about the Liberators. I did a google search on them and it says they could either be made by Uniroyal or GoodRich. See attached thread...

I an kinda like the guy in this thread leaning toward the GoodRich Long Trail

 

They ride very smooth, but the tradeoff is that you won't be railing through curves like a Miata.

Death wobble is totally different.

 

I bought the Uniroyal Liberators last night at Walmart. Driveout was $429 for OWL, 265-75-16E. They ride very smooth and have a little more aggresive tread pattern than the BFG commercial tires I was looking at. It is a 50K tire, we'll see, couldn't beat the price.

 

The Liberators were only just recently labeled as Uniroyals. I bought a set in 2004 and they have given pretty good service. I had a sidewall puncture about a week ago and got a Uniroyal Liberator put on with a prorated adjustment. The tread pattern is slightly different on the new tire.

 

What were they previously?

 

The Liberators may have always been made by Uniroyal, they are just not labled as such. No manufacturer name is on the other three tires I purchased in 2004.
