'99 "wait to start" wire
Mmmmk... I read through some other topics on remote starters and such but I never found what I was looking for (assuming they are different on different years)

From past experiance with my SS, the wire colors change every frickin year

anyway, I am having my local Circuit City install a Viper alarm with remote start... he knows everything for hooking it up except what color/location the "wait to start" light is so that he can make the alarm's remote start system can... wait to start

so what color/ where is the wire?

Re:'99 "wait to start" wire
According to my '02 manual, the wire from the ECM Wait To Start indicator driver to the "wait to start" indicator is OR/BK (orange with a black stripe), 18 gage. Hope this helps.

Re:'99 "wait to start" wire
In my experience, the wires can vary a great deal from what they're "supposed" to be. Best thing would be to try to find the wires directly behind the lamp module. You might have to remove the dash trim panel.

A possible alternative (maybe even better) would be to pick up the signal at the relays for the intake air heaters on the left inner fender. They should be "high" while energized just the same as the display bulb.

Hope that helps, keep us posted on your progress. I have a remote start alarm I originally purchased for my previous vehicle, and would like to put it on my Dodge sometime. Also in the works is a turbo timer.

Vin

Re:'99 "wait to start" wire
I hear that about the turbo timer

The alarm/remote start im installing has a feature where you can activate the remote start while the vehicle is running, then take the key out... effectively becoming a "turbo timer"

but I still think a nifty lookin turbo timer is in the works =P

as it happens, the CC tech didnt read ALL of the instructions, where it, in plain english, talks about the orange wire with the black stripe as mentioned by several people

thanks for all your help =)
