2nd Generation SWR Flatbed (Hillsboro) - PICS
I had a heck of a time finding pics of SWR flatbeds, when I was trying to decide if that's what I wanted to do.
Why? Truck vs. Tree.
Ended up w/ a Hillsboro 8.5x7 with mitred corners. They offered the best bang for my buck, and a local~ish dealer.
Difference in cost of reparing the old body and the new bed, bought me a pair of koolvue mirrors
Bringing home the new toy.

That's a sharp flat bed, how much does it weigh?
I couldn't help but give a litte chuckle to myself when I noticed the sticker on the tailgate, and the carnage next to it Not saying its related, but its kind of ironic! How fast were you going when you hit the tree?

Yes, the beer sticker is fun. But I wasn't driving. Came out of gear overnight, (dog, ghost, temp change, vandal - your guess is as good as mine) and ran down my driveway. It had to be moving at a good clip given the damage, I guess at least 20 mph.

Bed was $1800, ~$250 in upgrades including the mitred corners, and $400 to install. Out the door for $25xx, a few hundred less than the body shop replacing the tailgate, bumper and banging out the bedside.

I forgot to get the shipping weight, I guess it's around 1000lbs. Given the 5th wheel plate and tool box + tools I had w/ the oem bed, it's not much more.

Hankook Dynapro RT03
285x75R16 - 10 ply, D rated [80psi / 34xx weight rating].
so far I'm very happy with the tire, not so happy with the wear. I've only had them a few thousand miles... At this rate they won't last long, although I expect the wear to slow as I get into the harder compunds.
Edit to add Gizzi's quote.

Nice bed! I've never really been much on the SRW flatbeds though because of the open space, but a couple hang me down tool boxes. I think I've seen a skirted flatbed on a single wheel and that seemed to turn my eye more. Looks good though and easier to fix than sending out to the body shop and more than likely ALOT quicker to get you back in the driver seat!
Last year swiped 175 feet of fence post going down my driveway in snow, ruined the bed. Converted to flatbed dually for about a $1000 more than body shop wanted and only took about a week for me to do once I got all parts/bed.
