2002 dodge 2500 factory options?

Did the 2002 dodge 2500 come with an overhead fuel mileage indicator as an option?

It was an option, called the travel convenience group, had fuel mileage, trip odometer, compass & temp, and I think a elapsed time counter. Became standard on SLT's in 03 but was an option before that.

The wiring is not there. You need the harness that goes down the pillar and plugs in under the dash. You also need the temp sensor and wiring.

So theoretically one could source the overhead console and wiring, install, plug it in and be good to go?

Where is the connector under the dash?

I got mine from a wrecking yard. I also got the auto dimming mirror and lighted visor mirrors since they all run off the same harness. Since the donar truck was totaled in front the temp sensor came off another vehicle. A sensor off any DC vehicle should work. The under dash plugs on my '02 were C3 on the back of the dash fuse panel and C358 to the left of the large connector next to the steering collum. My truck had temp sensor wiring going to a plug by the underhood light and I did my own wires from there to the sensor behind the grill.
