2001: where to buy interior restoration parts: dash, seat foam/cover, carpet, *****?
got a screaming deal on a 2001 Farm Truck, and it smells like a real truck.
the driver seat lets your butt hit some steel bar across the back, and you just fall into it, so it needs foam.
all the other foam has the "stink" in it, so it needs to go.
want to put new seat material on there, it is cloth now, would you put OEM cloth from ____ on there, or KATZKIN leather (other than huge $$, why not?)
the PO hit his fist on the dash last month, and the dash shattered, is there a thread on replacing the dash cover?
head light ****: have to pull out for foglights, so someone yanked the **** off, so need that too.
headliner: has the stink in it, and some unknown stains..buy a replacement, or have a upholstery shop re do it?
door panels: some of the cloth material is wore bare, if I do all the other stuff to make it nice & clean, may as well....but how? how $$??
i am in the truck right, only 170k miles, and it runs GREAT, shifts great, needs tires (buy a set of newer/bigger tires off CL) and a buddy will get me a bed & fender when the right color comes up, so i could have a real good looking truck inside & out, and still be good, money wise.

I like leather and the OEM was looking worn, so I went with Katzkin from a shop in Houston when I was there that installs it for car dealers. Big shop. They did the headliner and sun visors in cloth. Beautiful job. Surprisingly, not much money, either.

so if I put ~1000/1500 in the interior, and maybe $1000 in exterior, i could have a REAL nice truck and still be in the truck right, and be glad to drive it every day, instead of skipping replacing some expensive parts and then not being as happy with it

There is a guy in the upstate of SC that buys dodge 2500 and 3500 trucks and parts them out. I am going to see him in the next couple of days and will get his name and a number. If there is a way I can contact you personally let me know. I have used Genos and have had excellent service and they are great to work with.

Nice score....
You're right, with a couple grand, you could have a nice DD...
I'd dump and replace all the fluids, it being a farm vehicle. They generally get abused, and not much else.... at least in this state, anyway.

well, you kinda get tired of hearing everybody talk about HOW GREAT Geno's is...and there's a reason, they are great!!
there's a thread on here about how bad the PPI dash is, however the Geno's dash is reinforced in the holes, has foam around the openings, and is something that will look RIGHT in your truck.
my buddy is the local "Dodge Nut" and he even raved about how good the dash looked.
i put ~$800 of stuff in my cart, but finally trimmed it down & spent about $400 with them, and it all came in the box with the dash (meaning they do not drop ship the dash, it is at their store) and it came in a few days, like order on Thursday, here on Monday.
FWIW, my buddy buys the passenger seat cushions out of the junkyard, and does something like the forum fix, with carpet/canvas under the cushion, and he had a cover squirreled away.
has anyone found a way to re-attach the cloth panel/arm rest to the door panel?
the OEM just has plastic barbs pushed thru, then melted over, which is hard to repair.

I just replay drivers side seat foam and it is a real quality item! Geno's sourced it from some where that had experience with our rigs. It has a cloth strengthener where the springs had cut through the old foam, it also has a little bit stiffer foam on the left front corner where all ours tend to crush first. Well worth the time and cost!

well, my buddy got all the parts rounded up (heater core & AC condenser?) and did the install. he has done about 4 LMC dash installs, and he said the Genos Dash did not fit as perfectly as the LMC dash does, although he liked some of the other aspects of the Genos dash, but he said the LMC dash is the easiest to fit in.
he is trying to get my headlight switch to fit now, it won't quite fit flush without some tweaking.
the good part is the dash only comes in one color, so he dyed the dash, and he re-dyed the whole under dash, and it looks BRAND SPANKING NEW. i ordered new carpet, and he said the gas truck carpet does not have the heavy jute padding like the diesel trucks have, so he is putting down Dynamat.
he is taking his time, but it will be worth it, when you think of what a long term investment this is.
