'01 Brake Question

My '01 Ram CTD Q-cab recently developed a brake problem. When you push the pedal to stop it almost sounds/feels like the rotors are warped but the brake pedal doesn't pulsate. This just started happening all of a sudden...it didn't gradually get worse.

I haven't pulled a wheel off to look closer but assume I need new rotors and brakes up front. Has anyone had a similar problem with their '01? Can anyone recommend the best rotors and pads to use?

Also, my truck has drum brakes in the rear. I saw that SSBC sells a disc brake upgrade kit for $800.00. Are there any cheaper ways to up-grade to disc in the back? i.e salvage parts, etc.?

My rear brakes on my 01 goes through spring kits regularly as well as the front using its share of pads. My next brake stop will be Midas for the lifetime brakes.

Get a rear off of an HO, mine has disc in the rear and makes it a heck of a lot better drive than the drums, for $800 you should be able to get a whole rear end, may have to trade yours in on it though.
