01 ball joints

Have a slight movement(1/16 inch maybe) on my lower ball joints so I`m guessing a little is too much . Have been reading and watching u tube on replacing them myself and am confident it is something I can handle myself . Was all set to get the Moog joints ,and I started noticing many say NOT to use Moog on anything above 99 because of some tight steering issue , and many have said XRF brand ( with a million mile warranty ) is a much better choice for my 01 ram .
Now I`m all confused about what I should get . Any advice y`all can give me that might help me make up my mind would be very much appreciated . Thanks , Larry

1/16 isn't bad, I'd get a buddy to rock the truck left to right and see what else is loose. Also turn the steering wheel and watch....Moog parts are good.

Thanks Desert5600 , that is a interesting read that I haven`t seen before .

Thanks SIXSLUG , I didn`t really think that was much movement but I wasn`t sure . I think I now will take my time and not feel a urgent need to do them right now . Then when I get into it I will just try to replace everything I can because I don`t have any plans of getting rid of this truck .

I went with the premium moog ball joints and was kinda bent the lowers weren't zerked, after about 75K miles they are due again, I figure it's the weight up front and the roads I drive that are increasing wear and tear. I've just accepted these trucks don't steer very good or have good road feel, especially when compared to any newer stuff...

Likewise, I'm keepin mine too!
