When off roading, oil pours out my blow by vent hose.
I've got 40"s on my 99' regular cab and I like to wheel off road. In extreme down hill situations oil pours out the blow by vent hose. I mean it pours. Any way to keep the oil where it's needed and still allow ventilation?

You can re-do the crankcase ventilation by putting a vent on the valve cover and plugging the vent up front with a plug. (Can be found at Cummins)
I'd like to try a moroso crankcase evacuation system in the future. This connects the crankcase venting through the valve cover directly to the exhaust a bit after the turbo.

The 24V have a catch bottle at the end of the blow by tube from the factory.
I bet an that angle the oil in the over flow tube pours out as it is full.
Try emptying the bottle before wheeling next time.

Those years cummins engines will do that on anything over like a 20 or 22 degree slope. Dodge had a kit that would fix it not sure if they are still available or not some even got it put on by the dealer under warranty back then. Cummins also has what they call an enviroguard kit. Not positive it will prevent it but it does get rid of the catch bottle and routes a line into an unused oil boss down by the oil pan IIRC it is an alternate oil dipstick tube boss that is not used in the dodge application but the kit took about 90 minutes for me to install on my 01 was relatively painless except for getting the plug out of the boss which was a chore just hard to get to it. didn't haven real problem getting the tube pushed in it though

Yep, I think it was only for a couple years they had the vent hose coming off the gear cover on the front. Dodge had a bulletin that covered the oil loss problem when driving on severe angles. As mentioned above, the kit in the bulletin would eliminate the front mounted vent hose and relocate it to the side of the engine where they had been in the past.
