Well, depending on what you use your truck for, I'd go with what will work.

Aside from the stock clutch, if you want a better one that will tow and have good feel I'd say South Bend. I upgraded to a Con OFE for my truck and it has been smooth to release and holds well when towing. It wasn't cheap, but I don't like to go cheap on internal parts.

Guys say good things about Valair clutches for the Dodge's too.

I'll tell you what it's doing it's hard to get in gear this might just be the throw out hydraulics ?? ,it's been getting worse for a while put today i limped it home , can replacing these cure the problem ...the clutch doesn't seem to slip when pulling ?

If you are finding you need to pump the clutch once or twice to get it in gear, there is a good chance it is the hydraulics. Mine got to where I had to turn the truck off to get from 1st to reverse before I replaced it. Try sitting still with the engine running. Push the clutch and try and get it in gear. If it does not go, press the pedal a few times and then try putting it in gear again. If it works after pumping it up, that is a strong sign the hydraulics are going. The store at the top of the page should sell a pre-assembled and pre-bled unit that bolts in for your truck if that is what you determine the problem to be.

After taking another look under the dash at the clutch rod it's a little wet with fluid im thinking the Hydraulics is weak , when i remove it by to two bolts thou the firewall " do i need to unhook the rod at the pedal " ? If you have any more tricks to this change out please let me know i haven't worked on a fluid clutch before .

IIRC the rod just nests in the cup in the hyd. unit.

Sounds like replacing this may be the answer to your troubles.

If you are running the stock clutch a stock replacement slave cylinder and unit may be all you need.

It is a sealed system so you will need to buy the whole thing but its worth it.

The truck is stock and even if it is the clutch i would replace this system to so my thinking is to try this first and go from there . Thanks for all the help on DTR

A late update i changed out the clutch Hydraulics but didn't help ...the throw out bearing fell apart when the trans was pulled all new and back on the road .
