I have not tried the campaign pump as my Cummins dealer warranties the same model lift pump each time.

Have you or your Cummins dealer took apart a failed lift pump to see why it failed?
If not, this may give us some clues to see why they are failing all the time on your truck. Hopefully, it is just the plastic vanes disolving and adding a diesel fuel supplent may help this.
I agree with you that the FASS system isn't a perfect answer, but it seems like the best option without going to a p-pump solution. I will going to the fass if my lift pump fails all the time.
On my truck, I installed the vulcan kit as you, but replaced the lift pump with one from NAPA. I have about 12,000 miles on it without any problems.

On some trucks, I've read that that a fuel tank vent line has a rubber cap on the end that was *supposed* to be removed when the tank was installed. If left in place, your tank could be building up a vacuum as you drive - and KILL your lift pump. Do some searching on the various diesel websites; I bet you can find more details.
Last time I found one of those topics, I checked mine. It appears to be "OK", but I do still hear the system sucking air when I shutdown. And if I crack the fuel filler cap open it immediatly equalizes and gets quiet. I guess I need to crawl under the truck again too.

Just for what its worth ...I have seen my pumps do that too but then found ,that every time the heater grids kick on the LP pressure would drop off then shoot right back up when they kicked off..and so on and so on

Well....somewhat true.....we used to have an issue with customer service until i came here and took care of that......
and some of the older motors were troublesome....but the new motors are night and day over the old ones. TONS less issues......

at idle, but 12 is not terrible. I've had a Cummins Pump in for almost a year and the pressure has been steady @ 22 psi and thats with a Holley Red Pusher pump which adds about 6 or 7 psi. I lost 3 pumps prior to the installation of the pusher. I'd look at another type of pump set up jmo.

Well.............This latest pump lasted almost two months. Pressure is fluctuating again, staying down around 5 psi most of the time. Something is wrong somewhere inside the tank. I can't think of anything else it can be. I don't know if I have the patience to chase this gremlin any more. I'm thinking seriously of trading this thing over the weekend.
I wouldn't buy a FASS. (cause I already got one)
Got tired of changing lift pumps all the time especially when the last one went out along the road in Lynchburg. Oh and did I mention it was the day before Thanksgiving? On the way home from Arkansas? And that it was 22 degrees out that morning? And that cars and trucks were whipping by and 80 MPH causing it to feel like about 12 below?
It may not be the best answer but it has been on there for more than two years now and does not miss a beat. FP is 15 or 16 all the time even with about 450 HP.

If you think about the internal workings of that pump it has to have a very small clearence between the housing and the rotors of the pump. If you get dirt through there and whats it going to do, it will score the pump and as it keeps doing this you get lower and lower performance. Thats just my opinion but I thought I would throw it out there and let you guys tear it up.
