What do these codes mean?

My truck is putting out these codes with the key cycle trick:

P0500

P1693 (came up two times)

P1687

P0216 (I know this one )

Its an '02 ctd, auto: I have an Edge EZ that was plugged in when I scanned it will that make a difference on any of these codes.

Thanks

1st is top of the page click on tech facts , about 3 pages deep , code def.
But in this case only 1 of your's were there , speed sensor , it would help if you gave some syptoms that it has also .
And nows a good time to ask why there are so many missing codes in the list ?
I would guess that the computor may affect code info , contact the supplier about there programing if someone does not answer that one .

P0500 - No Vehicle Speed Sensor signal (might be a bad sensor, or could be tripped by wheelspin if you've been stuck recently)

P1693 - DTC in Companion module (just means that a code was set in either the PCM or ECM, since it looks like you have codes in both computers, you're getting multiple 1693 codes)

P1687 - No MIC (Mechanical Instrument Cluster) BUS Message

P0216 - Injection Pump Timing failure - make sure to check out your lift pump and fuel filter as these could cause the code.

Having the EZ plugged in shouldn't cause a false reading on any of these codes.

Unfortunately, on a '99 you'll have to use a scanner. The key on/key off trick didn't work on the '99s. But if you have an Auto Zone nearby, they'll read codes for free.

1-sometimes I get a dead pedal
2-sometimes the trans is OD at 15 mph
3-sometimes there will not be hardly any power(still responds to the pedal but very very slow)
4-and other times it will run like a raped date.

i have a FASS as my lift pump and im pushin 22-23lbs psi idle and 19-20psi @WOT.

I was stuck not all that long ago and after they were spinning all kind of lights came on in the dash and were on for a few hours. Is it able to be reset and loose that code.

what does that P1687 code mean? any thing to be worried about?

to many codes in there for my likeing but thank you for the help.

If you set the 500 code when you were stuck, you probably would have gotten a Brake and ABS light on your dash. Usually it gets set when your stuck and you've either got the rears wheels spinning like crazy without the front moving, or in 4x4 with one front wheel stopped and one spinning. The lights go away after a couple of cycles, the codes stay a little longer.

Never seen the 1687 before, but I'm assuming that it lost communication with the instrument cluster at some point? Ever had your instrument panel go dead or go crazy with a bunch of lights (besides just getting the Brake and ABS from the 500)?

Just got an idea from the last couple of posts , about getting stuck , ther may not be a problum besides the computer program saying the things do'nt add up . so its tweaked.
Go to one of the parts stores that do the reading and have them clear the codes , then drive some and see if that clears the symtems , before doing further diagnostics .

Or clear codes by unplugging the negatives on both batteries then turning the key on for 30 minutes.

In OD at 15 mph? I haven't drove a dodge auto, but this definately sounds wrong. The 0216 causes #1.
