Well it happened - Lift Pump is Dead...

It's official - my lift pump officially died today... And couldn't have been at a better time - while I was at the shop getting it tested!

Oh happy day... Superman runs more better now...

Thank you thank you... I've been anticipating it happening... Just very lucky that it wasn't while I was on one of my last minute road trips... : :

Jones,

You need to check your post fuel filter fuel pressure with a guage. There are temporary guages that u can buy or you can mount one in the cab so that you can monitor the pressure as you drive. The best way to check if your pump is dead is to check the reading at Wide Open Throttle, as the reading at idle isnt really an indication of lift pump health. I think a good pump should put out at least 9 psi @ W.O.T.

Worst case - truck wont start or will not stay running - that would also be a good indication thats its bad.

Looks like your lift pump made it 5 yrs before quitting. With mine it only took 26k miles in less then a year.

Good to hear you caught it early.

That's what mine did when the Injector Pump went TU.

4,000 miles, covered under warranty.

Lift pump was, and still is just peachy.

So how's the truck running since you pierced the wire and cut the hole?

Big Blue...she doesn't have the pump wire pierced yet, that Torque Dog box is just like an Edge EZ, same plug in points. I sure hope it's just a bad box and not an injector pump :-[
