Warranty VP44 Mystery part number
Hi folks
I just had the ol VP44 replaced under warranty (98,800 miles on the clock - first one ever - was still going but throwing a p0216)
I was looking at the work order wondering what one of the part numbers was. I could not get a clear explanation from the service manager and he forgot to ask the tech...
Here's the mystery part:
4429248 "Plug Adap" 21003015
What plug adapter? What part is this? Is this the plug for that barring hole? Plug adapter for the VP44??
Google returns nothing... neither does the forum search.
Any ideas?
FWIW here is the IP pump Dodge part # R5019658-AD. Its painted black - I hope its not a blasted Czech pump.
Thanks in advance

did your dealer install an In-tank pump? mine had something like that on the repair order and they put a pump in the tank. The adapter might be the wiring to the new pump.

I believe you hit the nail on the head! Thats the only adapter that should of been installed. No adapters come with the new VP44 as far as I know.

Thanks for the replies
It was not the in tank pump, I was told that it was the plug for the barring access. I asked the service guy not to install one and he replied, "who said anyone was putting an in-tank pump".
I'm not real impressed with the whole warranty service. I've got about 100 scratches all over my fender from the tech's belt-buckle or whatever.
Thanks once again for trying.

Thats too bad, some mechanics show no respect for others trucks. But, at least you dont have the intank fuel LP. I do and from what I hear Im thinking that I can pee faster than it can pump fuel
