Used to run a secondary tank in the bed, thats where I put the offroad/farm diesel back when I lived in Nebraska. Got dipped 3-4 times growing up, never had any problems because it wasn't in the primary tank.

Most red is actually ULSD as well. Makes things easier. What isn't ULSD is LSD, 500 ppm max sulpher.
Sulpher in and of itself is not really a lubricant, but the processes to remove it also remove parrafins and other lubricants, which are replaced.
You can get lubricity additives if you still want more lubricity and still be legal.
And remember that this is a PUBLIC forum that you are discussing commiting a federal offense on

Talked to the local fuel station which sells both and they told me both their on-off road diesel is the new USLD. If they ran the older stuff for off road, if just one drop got into the new stuff it would contaminate it and make it unfit for sale. So to avoid hassel they only have USLD
From what i remeber hearing its 10,000 dollar fine and they audit your taxes. Just putten it out there.

OK I know of the legality. Just thought running some red marine diesel would help clean and lubricate the injector system.
I guess I'll buy some additives and stay safe.

I run both...the truck seems to get better fuel mileage running red. Offroad diesel has a 500 ppm sulfer content as oppposed to the 15 ppm sulfer content of green diesel.

That $3k will buy a lot of fuel additive.
Where does one find red diesel up here anyway, besides farms? Never seen off road pumps before. Probably because you'd have to drive it on the road to get to the pump . . .
