same vibration here at 65-70 after adding lift up front and it was the front drive shaft.....you can remove it and vibration will go away....i went with some adjustable control arms up front because i had about a 3 1/2" lift. it's the only way to get the correct angle back on the axle after raising it up front. if you don't you'll just keep wearing out u-joints........

One guy said they replaced the whole axle and it didn't fix it. By process of elimination I'm fairly certain it's not related to the axle or drive shaft. This only leaves suspension and controls. I'm running out of cheap things to replace. A couple things I noticed, like the OP said, the vibe is worst at 65 mph, it gets worse when the front suspension compresses and it also goes away when I turn slightly to the passenger side. Maybe the track bar? So if the shocks don't fix it, I'll try a new track bar, then drag link and tie rod. If that doesn't do it, I'll have to sell it because I'm tired of throwing money and time at it.
have you tried just removing your front drive shaft for a while and see if the vibration is still there?

Yes. That's the first thing I tried.

My truck doesn't have a carrier bearing and does it regardless of being loaded or not. The vibe on my truck goes away when I veer right and gets worse when the suspension compresses.

It was the drivers side unit bearing. I replaced it with the one I pulled off the passenger side. So lesson learned, the problem isn't always where it sounds like it is. Good news is my truck has a bunch of new parts.

EDIT: I should mention the noise was the only symptom. There was no unusual movement in the bearing, it was tight.

My Dad's 94 did this for about 4 years til his hicktown mechanic jacked it up and checked the tires for roundness. Ended up being two of his factory steel rims were better than a 1/4" out of round.

Dealer took them for inspection while reviewing his claim and "lost" them. They eventually replaced both wheels with same after a convincing letter from his attorney.

Not saying its your problem but vibration stopped with aftermarket wheels.

well once i get the new T steering installed thats sitting here i will probly do the bearing and ball joints with a camber adjuster on the pass side, when i look at the truck from the front the top of that tire leans in hard and is wearing the new tire alot, funny thing is it went to 2 different computer alignment shops and both gave printouts showing in spec. I used to do alignments and i know somthing just isn't right

I don't understand how everyone is saying the front drive shaft is the problem???/ If your not in 4 wheel drive then the shaft is not engaged. How can a 70 mph vibration coming from the back of the truck be caused by a front drive shaft that isn't engaged.

If that was directed at me, I don,t have hubs so the driveline is turning all the time as is all other 3rd generations. Make sense?

Just went and looked, I didn't post here but have the exact problem.,when the front driveline is removed the vibrations is gone, all new u joints front and rear, front and back driveline balanced twice, new shocks, wheels and tires and nothin changed but the speed that it occurs on the up side all the above needed attention.

I am am presently in Cheyenne, Wy towed a small Uhaul. I had periods of no vibration to the above vibration being there and there were times where I had a pulsing vibration, I have come to the conclusion that these vibrations are road related and probably won't ever cure it.
