Vibrating Torque Converter?

Immediately after I installed my new single disk TCI TC I noticed a slight vibrating humm that I could feel through the floor board. Only at idle speed though... and it is on/off/on/off - similar to a harmonics situation. I called TCI and they said they computer balance all their TC's. If it was out of balance won't the vibration get worse as RPM's increase? What else could it be? Will it eventually take out my rear main or pump shaft bearing? And I know, I shuda got da DTT - er Suncoast... But my three kids eat like they forsee the apocalypse.

Oh, and I'M STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE THINGY I SQUISHED ON THE BOTTOM OF MY TRANNY [verymad] - two wires... coil inside... - screws into the rear, lower portion of the trans, ring any bells?

does the vibration become worse with rpm?

tci makes a good converter....you just need to figure out your the problem

That's the weird thing, it goes away when the speed goes up.

If it was out of balance it would surley get worse with rpm. Hmm. Dont know what that could be. How is the converter holding, and how is the stall compared to stock. I just ordered a single disc goerend and cant wait till it gets here :) I also considered the TCI

It takes a little getting used to when launching with boost. RPM's don't build as much so boost is down a little. but once your foot leave the brake, see ya! Most importantly though, tranny feels less slushy when towing heavy.

My convertor did the same vibration thing, only at a idle. It's been almost 2 years and no problem. I may be wrong but someone said it may be something to do with the valvebody and its configuration and being able to also check you trans oil in park.

That's a relief. I have to admit I was a little worried that I would have to pull it out again. 2 years and no problem, it can't ge too serious then. thank you Bob. :)
