today i removed the stock air box and put in a place a round air filter connected straight to the intake tube, since then ive been hearing not only the turbo spool up but another sound like a shhhhhhhhhhhh also and it literally sounds like when you make that sound with your mouth, and i know its not the sound of the air back pressure when you go to shift gears cause its making the sound as you are speeding up and the turbo is spooling.. could this be a leak in a intercooler boot letting air through ? any ideas would e great so i can troubleshoot if needed

 

probably turbo bark does it do it right after you let up to shift?

 

No it's not that whoosh sound that it makes when you let up to shift

 

It's most likely the sheer volume of air going down the pipe at high velocity. (like a vacuum cleaner)

Mine makes the same noise when I have the silencer ring out with my Scotty Air II. I'm pretty sure it's normal.
