Truck won't turn off - 99 24v
About a week ago after a 3hr drive home... pulled in to park, turned the key off and the truck will not turn off. Ocasionally, I used to have to disconnect the Quadzilla programmer box and it would turn off but haven't had to do this in awhile.
Now, the truck won't turn off unless I pull the fuel relay in the main fuse panel under the hood. I haven't changed anything with the electrical or installed any other programmers, nothing.... not even had to change a fuse, truck has run flawless.
Batteries are new, all connections clean/tight and everything works as it reasonably should. One thing I have noticed is that I think 1st gear is going out...seems to start off slow but this shouldn't be related to this issue.
I tried swapping relays w/another one in the fuse box and same results, it will not turn off unless the fuel relay is pulled to literally kill the engine.
Any suggestions would really be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Found a random article about resetting the APPS. Completed the reset and the shut down issue has not happened again.
Hopefully it was this easy...

Well...back to the same issue. Going to reset the APPS again to see if this is the problem.
Fuel relay seems to be much hotter than the similar other ones in the relay box under the hood. The aftermarket fuel pump body is cool so I don't think it's shorting out.
I turn the key off, step on the pedal, brake and everything seems to work still with the key in the off position.
Anyone input or ideas would be appreciated....
Update 2/6 - I ordered an ignition switch,.$29 and a set of the security torx t-15 sockets $9 to swap it out.

Quick question- does the truck shut down the other stuff like tachometer etc when you turn off the ignition switch and it keeps running?
If yes, you seem to have a source keeping the input of the IP relay hot. (Remote starter, immobilizer wired by loons, chafed wiring in the steering column...)
If not, take a look at the ignition switch.

I reset the APPS again, let all the power drain for 45min, drove to the store/back 3-5mi and it shut off at the store and then back home.
It's about 80* here so I'm sure it probably fully warmed up. Gonna drive it again and see what happens.
Changed the trans fluid and need to adjust the 1st band gear. 1st gear, 0-15mph just doesn't seem right.

OK, your transmission is another problem. The front band is for 2nd gear, and the adjustment really bites you at the 2-3 shift. Nevertheless, adjusting the front band is never wrong.
Did you check what I suggested?

Yes, turn the key off and the truck still runs, has go pedal response and all dash lights lit up.
The truck will turn off on start up for short runs 1-5mi but after that, I have to pull the fuel relay to shut it down.
I'm going to look at all the wiring on the driver side to check for issues.... this is driving me crazy, not to mention the 1st gear trans issue. *** rains, it pours***

New electronic ignition switch ($29) and hex security sockets arrived but truck is in transmission shop till Monday.
Going to swap the ignition anyway.... after 313kmi, I would imagine it has to have some wear and will hopefully be the cause of it not turning off.
Will provide updates in a week or so.

Update- I picked the truck up from the transmission shop. All new/rebuilt 47re with billet torque converter, billet input shaft, full trans-go shift kit and modified valve body. Truck shifts amazing w/full power. Not sure how or why but the turn off problem seems to have disappeared. The turbo timer allows it to run a minute or two after the key is turned off, then the truck turns off. I'm going to monitor it and if anything changes I'll update here.
