Truck won't start after batterys went dead
My neighbor's 2003 dodge cummins 1 ton batterys went dead.
He disconnected the batterys and put them on trickle charge. When they were fully charged he hooked the cables back up and now the horn keeps honking like the alarm is going off as well as the truck not starting. We pulled the horn fuse to stop the noise but the truck will not turn over. Did he blow as fuse or what? Tia, Don |
sounds like the theft alarm is activated. Try unlocking the drivers door with a key or use the remotes.

Thanks to both of you!
I'll give them a try tomorrow and then tell you how it went. Don |
I went back down there today and we got the alarm to shut off but the starter still won't turn over. He's going to have a tow truck take it in to the dealership and find out whats going on.
Thanks for the help. Don |
Usually when a battery dies it's time to replace ..they die for a reason there wore out... remember a battery will always let you down when you need it .[laugh]

That's not the problem. They are new Sears diehard brand bought just before Thanksgiving.

Talking to this old guy is like trying to get blood out of a turnip!!
He finally told me that the truck tried to start then quit. It seems we may have a stuck starter solinoid. I'd hit him but he is 80 years old!!![duhhh] Don |

We both decided it was too cold to mess with the truck today. If it warms up a bit thru the weekend we might get to check it out further. Don |
