trans problem

i have a company truck with a trans problem

its a 98.5 24 valve cummins auto 3500 DRW with a service bed,air compressor, and welder plus tools and the problem is trans hunting for a gear around 35 to 50 mph.

a little history truck has 85000 miles with a 10000mile trans rebuild(new inerds and TC) weighs about 9500lbs.

right after rebuild truck ran like it never did before them about 1500 miles after started hunting like it was before rebuild.went back to shop for them to lick it and they replaced the soleniod pack then the throttle position sensor then some other electrical something on the trans and then said the problem is common with a dodge after all the parts throwing did not fix the problem.
problem wont do it when cold but will when it gets up to temp.

i think they put a cheap TC in the truck and dont want to lick it but i need to fix this thing.

wont pull in mud worth a crap and i can pee under the tires and its stuck.

any suggestions would be apprecited.

thanks
Rob

they have been cleaned at least twice and new batteries before rebuild.
positive cross over cable is in bad shape so maybe that is the problem.

but why did it work for 1500 miles?

maybe it has wetness in the cable and is corroiding up? mine is starting to do the same and the terminals are getting dirty. when i first got the truck they were clean and it shifted fine. others on here talk about a DTT noise filter? im sure someone will chime in about these soon. Bret

Comfirm both batteries are still good, clean all connections including where ground cables connect to block. DTT noise filter has helped in many cases, as well a reflash that applies mainly to 99 but has helped a few late 98's. HTH
