Tranny won't shift out of 1st, & Anti lock Question

Early '01, (drum rear brakes), 4wd, Auto. Bands adjusted as per recommended mileage, syn. fluid, filter changed & Deep pan installed at same time. Fluid looks, & smells good. No tranny problems to date. Odo 11800 miles. 3.54, 32" tires.

While doing 70+ on interstate, motor coughed, bucked & quit. Computer showed 109 miles till empty, & fuel guage showed 1/4 tank.

After getting home, found fuel tank bone dry. Refilled, started, drove & noticed that trans would not shift into 2nd unless throttle was lifted. Seems like it gets harder to "make" it shift when up to temp.

Last summer it showed code #0500, buddy and "expert" said not to worry.........

Have checked for codes w/ key and code reader (non dealer) but the $700. one,,,shows NO CODES. Any Ideas??????

As if the above wasn't enough, brake line to rear puked. (Rusted through)
Lines in other places look nasty as well. Am going to replace all.

2nd Question,,,,,,,,,

What is the best way to "bypass", remove, delete, rear Anti-lock? Going to have all lines off anyway, doesn't work in 4wd, and I learned to drive (reads, steer) with both peddles.

Any help, ideas or thoughts would be welcome.

Thanks Dave

As far as the transmission goes....sounds like your governor solenoid is shot. I'm not too sure on the bypass the ABS just for the rear.

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
The ABS control soloniod is under the master cyl. Just follow the line out of front of master cylinder down to frame, I believe. For test purposes you could electrically disconnect it.
No upshift sould like governor pressure solonoid is stuck in closed position and no gov presuure. Make sure TV cable is not disconnected or misadjusted.
