New Lift Pump Pressures

I just got my new lift pump in last Fri. Before I had 9 @ Idle, 5 @ 70 and 0-1.2 @ WOT. Now I have 11.8 @ Idle, 9.8 @ 70, and 5.6 @ WOT. That's with a new fuel filter. What gives?? I was hoping for better PSI than that. Oh well. That is with the Comp on EZ mode. Off it is the same PSI. If it starts failing again, I'll just let it go till my injection pump dies. I'm going to put on one more of the bolts I got from Geno's in the test port before the fuel filter (I've got mine hooked up to the one post-filter). Maybe that will help. I am debating on doing a pusher pump now. But I am a little leary to cause I'm not 100% sure that it will cure all of my problems with the lift pump. I don't want it to die again. But before I go and put this pusher pump on and void the warranty for the fuel system, I want to make sure that it will completely eliminate any future worries with the current lift pump. I know I only need about 14 psi head pressure on the lift pump.

Don't know Cattle. Would like to find out. Hows the EZ? I love my comp (although right now it is an EZ). I replaced the pre-filter test point bolt with one from Geno's and now I have 12.8psi @ Idle. I'll let yall know cruising and WOT later tonight.

Blue that sounds low for a new (good) pump. Mine reads 15 & 16 psi at idle and don't go below 12 even at WOT. ???

Blue, someone as smart as you and as knowledgeable about these trucks as you are can easily fix the problem:
Move the lift pump back by the fuel tank, splice into existing line, run a short piece of fuel line to bridge the gap where the pump was on the engine. You can also run larger fuel line. Yeah, it's a lot of trouble, but it works...
I had the email address for a guy who even makes a wiring harness for getting that done...but lost it! I'll look for it again, or get it from friends.
Stefan at DTT has such a kit, I think, and they have a lot of research & experimenting that has gone into it...their kit is very affordable.

Re:New Lift Pump Pressures

Sounds like a good deal Briar. I would really like to solve this problem once and for all. I don't want to have to deal with this again. What would the cost difference be between getting a pusher pump and by moving the lift pump?

Re:New Lift Pump Pressures

Here are the new pressures after the pre-filter test port was replaced with the Geno's bolt. 13-13.2 @ idle. 10.4-10.8 @ 70 and 6.6 @ WOT. Still not high enough though. >

Blue, you'd have to call Stefan at DTT and ask him how much for his kit... I'm sure it's a good price, though. The pusher pump kit is sold by Enterprise Engine, and is lower in $$$ than Stefan's kit, but I like the DTT set up for higher HP. I believe the kit from DTT comes with quite a few extras, like fittings.

Re:New Lift Pump Pressures

I have a feeling I already know the answer to this question, but would either setup void the warranty?
