Temperature probe connections

Is there anyone that uses a temperature probe connection that is not in the fluid stream? A probe connection that is attached to the outside of, say a trans line.
I know there will be a small amount of temp differance, but just not ready to cut perfectly good trans lines [eyecrazy] . Me and plumbing don't get along very good [laugh] . Have fears of didn't make the connections good enough and a million miles from nowhere and i just pumped the last drop of trans fluid out on the road. :'(
But i do want to install some type of temperature monitoring for my transmission and turbo.
Think about this. I grabbed it someplace and have not actually tried to get the part though.

Dodge Transmission Line
This line, or part of a line, has the fitting in it to put a temp gauge sender in the line.
Part # 5011244AA

Chris

I agree. I didn't want to cut the line either, but needed to get it done. I'm an electrician(who would've known) and I got mine in yesterday. Works fine now. :o

awmasparky, I am an electrician also. What kind of work do you do? Could you e-mail me how you installed the temp sensor's, and what brand of gauge/gauges you used. What are you monitoring trans, turbo or both
Factory crossover line is the way to go. Knocked check valve out of cooler fitting and left one in the rubber hose. Di Pricol
gauges in A pillar mount. Painless wiring kit to power sender.
Tapped into cig lighter for gauge lights. Highway driving , no towing yet. stop and go will hit 180 but once up to speed falls off rapidly.
