symptoms of weak batteries?

My pickup needs new batteries, and I have already bought one and the other one should be acquired sometime later this week. However, I have noticed lately that I have been getting a "dead pedal" like symptom, but the truck just seems a bit weak in 2nd and 3rd gears. No codes, good fuel pressure, fairly new injection pump. Once the RPM's build it clears up quickly. Does this sound like it could be symptomatic of bad batteries?

also- edge comp has been removed since ecm replaced last January.
any info or suggestions greatly appreciated
thanks!

If your getting dead pedal, your VP may be going again. If it turns over slow in the morning, especially after the grids cycle, batteries are going.

Most accurate way to find out how bad they are is load test them. Could be one of them needs water.

I've had the dead pedal that you get with a bad injector pump due to coroded battery cables and a bad battery. The people where I had replaced at said those pumps are very voltage sensative and will cause it.

You should never replace , only one battery in a battery pack , works the same with chains , ropes ect. , any number of batteries - are only as good as the weakest cell [ a cell is just 1 - 2.5 volt part of a battery , 12v battery has 6 cells ] , connect an new battery in with an old battery , the old battery is as good as it gets , and over time will ruin the new battery .

I didn't install just the one new one. I was waiting to purchase the other one, so i could put both in at the same time.

Well, today I went for it and bought the other battery and just got back from the test drive. Good news all the dead pedal symptoms seem to be gone.........for now.

Thanks for the info.
