Apps

I just replaced my APPS. Simple 30 min job and the problem (so far) has gone away. My truck took some time before it would turn the check engine light on. It certainly runs better, I think you get used to small driveability isssues and you don't realize it until you fix the problem. Hope you solve your problem soon.

Ok, went to Autozone - showed "No Codes", no what?

I think we will try an APPS?

Do the APPS reset first to try and isolate the problem. If you have to buy one, go to a Cummins dealer, not Dodge.

simplest way that i can think of is run by one of these shops that do free look overs on cars and ask if you can possably take them for a ride in the truck with there snap on code reader on trying to tell them about it. Then as you go for the ride watch your tps signal and see if it drops to zero anytime during the drive. Mine was acting wierd so i went to the tranny shop i had working on my tranny and asked if i can see if my tranny is demanding lock up and such but i more less wanted to see if i was dropping signal on the apps. I took it off and drenched it with carb cleaner and the signal stays steady now with no drops in the signal like before.. and has been working great ever since.

Makes sense. Thank you. I live in SE KS. I do I find a Cummins dealer close? I would you google Cummins? Just type in Cummins dealers in Kansas?

Thanks guys, you are so helpful and patient. I appreciate it.

Any one got a decent write up or a place to see how to correctly change out the apps? mine is startin to go out i do belive cause every once in awile it will feel like my foot slipped off the pedal and then its fine. i too like dinero can pull my horse trailer down the road no problems just every so often it feels like a huge head wind hit me. i did take it to the dealer about a month ago and i belive when the tested to see if there was any thing wrong they inavertnaly re set the apps and after that it ran fine for about month or so with lots of power now its back to the little fumble on the 10yard line.

It's an easy, straight foreward change. Once you take the black cover off, you'll see that it's pretty simple.
