Swap a P7100 for the Vp44??

Hi, Well looks like I lost another IP in 9000 miles and 13 months, just out of warranty. Been trying to get some funds together for a LP upgrade, the stock is still 12 & 7. Is this bad luck or am I doing something wrong? Been running two stroke oil and ps, run the edge on 3x5. "Stock tranny don't want to break it."....... Has anyone swapped out a VP44 for a P7100? I have a hard time installing another VP44 just to do it again in a year or so. For the amount of money I'm putting in these pumps I could have bought a couple of GM 350 crate engines. All well anybody interested in a truck let me Know.

How much more does it cost to do the swap? My VP is about to go as well, and I had found one for about 1000 bucks.

roughly $3k for the average swap. alot of things needed, but it could be done for less if you are very mechanically inclined and can do all the work yourself, like rebending the vp44 lines to work on the p-pump

If you want cheaper then just buy injector lines that have not been bent, but I'll bet you that it takes as long to bend or re-bend the lines as it takes to do the rest of the conversion. If you can't find a cheap donor motor then just buy the kit from Haisley or Schied's, and you should be able to find pumps for $600-1000. Also you WILL need more fuel pressure, get a FASS or like style pump and get rid of all that factory lift pump, fuel filter canister and tiny fuel lines

Pay now, or pay more later. It all depends on how many VP's you're gonna go through. $3k is 3 VPs, so it all depends if you think you're gonna go through that many.
